Deptawa's Hardware and Distributing a Texas legend in China Grove
Deptawa's Hardware and Distributing on U.S. 87 in China Grove grew from a 18 year pharma career to a self built 8000 square foot store. Clarence T. Deptawa and wife Jean opened it 32 years ago and expanded with a 1974 addition a 1975 warehouse and a third section. The store grew by buying inventories of 19 closed hardware stores and remains a main Texas independent distributor.Deptawa credits people as the key to the business and notes his first employee Roy Sheldon still works there. His wife insists on keeping her share as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. Open 9 am to 530 pm Monday through Saturday. Call 830 648 0811.
