Floresville High School teammates Elizabeth Quinters and Maddie Poptiam volunteer at the Children's Miracle Network telethon held at Fiesta Texas. They helped TV personnel and dignitaries, rode rides during breaks, and contributed as teens in a predominantly adult volunteer event raising 2.5 million dollars for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's Hospital.

The second annual barbecue cook-off to raise funds for La Vernia City Park will be held Saturday Aug 16 in the park.
