Monthalia Choir Performs at Leesville Church Service

The Monthalia Methodist Choir visited Leesville United Methodist Church for a Sunday evening service on January 4, 1981. Members from Leesville Baptist and Leesville Methodist Churches attended. The choir leader is Gilbert Philippres. the group includes teens to men in vocal ranges.

Federal Land Bank Boosts Loan Rates in Texas

Gaylon J. Oehlke of the South Texas Federal Land Bank Association in Kenedy says the Federal Land Bank of Texas will raise billing rates on farm and ranch land loans from 9.75 percent to 10 percent and rural residence loans from 10 percent to 11 percent effective January 1, 1981. He cites higher funding costs but notes rates remain below competitors. The association provides long term real estate loans across the region.
