This week the Wilson County News profiles Floresville attorney Larry A. Vick as its Business of the Week. The staff will interview and photograph him and introduce his law practice to readers on page 4. A special Bridal Section arrives March 9 with a pull-out feature.
With the early Texas primary the absentee voting rules broadened to allow any voter to cast ballots without an excuse. Absentee balloting runs through March 4 and a special day at Wilson County Courthouse is set for February 27 from 8 to 5 to accommodate pre Super Tuesday voting.
Reunion of all former Ruckman School students in Karnes County set for April 10 at 11 a.m. in the Panna Maria diner. Attendees urged to bring a covered dish and old photos. organizers share historical notes on the school and parish hall use.
LaVernia High School captures top honors at a 33-team computer competition at Our Lady of The Lake University in San Antonio. Senior captain David Bray led LaVernia Team 1 with teammates Darin Ramzinski and John Gimbel. LaVernia Team 2 included Kevin Rutledge Nathan Bevan and John Huckelba.
LaVernia volunteers mail about 3 000 letters to residents and businesses in LVISD seeking support and contributions for the 1988 membership drive. Dues are 15 dollars for individuals 25 for families and 50 for businesses. Printing and mailing funded by Rose Realty of LaVernia.
