A new Floresville church organized for Southern Baptist worship will start a Bible study at 10 30 each Sunday morning with the Community Baptist Fellowship. Current services are held in a meeting place as the church plans formal organization.

A new Howard's Depot warehouse showroom opens at 1019 C Street Floresville offering Floresville shoppers first selection of discounted new merchandise. Buddy and Liz Howard say everything will be on display for one week before moving to their full line store.
Four Koepp Chevrolet employees received honors from president Ewald Koepp Jr. and vice president Dwight Koepp. Paul Mattke Jr. earned a quartz watch for 25 years of service and lives in LaVernia with wife Sandra and son Kane. Deborah Freeman received a quartz watch for ten years as Business Manager in LaVernia with two sons Spencer and Logan. Gregory Franchowiak received a three diamond tie pin for 20 years as Parts Manager in St. Hedwig with wife Rhonnie and children Vince and Denise.
Eyewitnesses report a cigar shaped orange light about 1000 feet up moving southeast to southwest over La Vernia at 7 30 pm on February 15. John Cockrell Norma Santos Alfred and son observed from different locales near Los Santos Restaurant and FM 775 with varying sizes and speeds.
