St Hedwig bids farewell to Mayor Mary Jo Dylla
St. Hedwig city leaders honored Mayor Mary Jo Dylla at the Dec. 6 meeting as she departs after 12 years as mayor. Dylla expressed love for St. Hedwig and said she plans to enjoy her new La Vernia home while remaining available to help locally. The council postponed a hazardous waste program presentation and set Jan. 3 for the next meeting.

Accident sends two via AirLife near La Vernia
A weekend crash at the F.M. 775 and F.M. 3432 intersection left a male rider age 21 and female rider 17 from Odessa injured and transported by AirLife to University Hospital in San Antonio. The 2003 GMC Envoy driver, 82, Genevieve, attempted to turn onto F.M. 3432, colliding with the motorcycle. The male suffered a leg fracture. the female had a mouth injury and head impact concerns.
