A four year old from Stockdale Alicia Cardona known as Alicia enjoys genger ballet Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers. She plans to start Kindergarten next fall and idolizes her sister Lauri. Her family includes cousin Crystal Trigo and brothers Johnny and Larry. Her parents Janet and Cole live in Stockdale and Floresville.
Karnes City residents invite the public to Calico Christmas at the Bordovsky Building on Highway 181 December 14 and 15. Santa visits from 2 to 4 each day while parents shop. The event features tamales home baked goods and handmade crafts including ceramics stained glass quilts and antiques.
Floresville residents and businesses are invited to join the Yale Chamber of Commerce Christmas Decoration Contest. No entry fee is charged. Notify the chamber for judging visits. Entry deadline is December 14 with judging on the 21. Awards will be given for first second and third in each category.

The La Vernia Band Christmas Concert is set for Thursday December 19 1985 at 7 30 p m in the High School Cafetorium. Floresville Band Concert follows the same date at the High School Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. Members are asked to bring food to complete the meal and join a social get together.
The annual Christmas Party for La Vernia Hermann Sons members and guests is set for 12:00 noon Sunday December 15 at the lodge hall with tamales drinks and meals described.
The Graytown Canada Verde Volunteer Fire Dept announces its officers for the new year led by Chief Leo Walter. First assistant is Harry Giesalhart and second assistant is Pauline Harti. Rhonda Giesalhart is secretary and Jan Hartl treasurer. Mary Willford named reporter. Meetings set for the second Monday each month.
The Wilson County Historical Commission announces a special Christmas meeting on December 19 at 3 45 p m. in the restored King Lorenz Home in Stockdale south of the Baptist Church. All members and the public are urged to attend and visit.
The La Vernia Athletic Association sponsors a December 15 fund raiser at the Chamber of Commerce Hall. A dinner features boneless ham with sides and dessert booths with baked goods. A games party offers prizes while a dessert booth and a charity raffle draw follow a reception honoring fall activities. Proceeds go to the athletic association.
Individuals and businesses may have names listed in the La Vernia EMS Community Greeting in the Wilson County News December 18 issue. Contributions mailed to the EMS by December 13 qualify for listing. gifts of 5 dollars or more support the EMS and appear in the greeting sponsored by La Vernia Lews.
