St Hedwig VFDs Picnic Draws Big Crowd and Funds Vehicle
Volunteers at the St Hedwig Volunteer Fire Department held a large annual picnic at the American Legion Hall drawing one of the department’s biggest crowds. They prepared thousands of pounds of sausage brisket and side dishes and sold over 2600 barbecue plates. Proceeds fund a used fire truck fuel maintenance and new equipment for emergency vehicles. Local groups provided music and activities while community donations aided the silent auction raffle and bake sale.
