New immunization requirements apply to hepatitis A hepatitis B and varicella for children entering schools or child care facilities this fall. Students in both public and private schools must be up to date on all vaccines.
The 2000 2001 Stockdale Hermann Sons School of Dance registration is Saturday August 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Stockdale Community Building. Proof of membership is required at registration. For details call Pat Donsbach or Penne Wiatrek. The hepatitis A vaccine rule applies to border counties. Wilson County is not affected. Hepatitis B rules updated for children born on or after September 2 1988 with vaccination proof due after the 12th birthday.
Victoria College announces interactive television courses in area towns this fall with options from Small Business Management to U.S. History and General Psychology. Dr. Laura Beizer was named coordinator for the Ray Ellison Family Center at Palo Alto College in San Antonio. The state licensed facility will have four classrooms, serve 50 to 60 children ages 2 through 4, and offer parenting training and seminars. The 5,500 square foot center is set to open in fall 2000.
