Nixon State Bank will celebrate the grand opening of its Lavernia branch with a ribbon cutting at 9 30 a.m. Saturday August 5. A reception runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The temporary facility is at 628 W Highway 87. The new bank hires local residents with long banking experience.
Eagle Scouts will sponsor a food drive Sunday August 6 beginning at 1 p.m. collecting door to door and at Rose Properties in LaVernia. Representatives of non profits will participate and call William Roberts at 779-1079 for details.
Luke Foster Jimerson arrived May 16 1995 weighing 7 pounds 3 1 2 ounces and 20 inches long. Chase Reed Neubauer born June 13 1995 at 7 53 am in Southeast Baptist Hospital San Antonio weighing unknown pounds 3 3 ounces and 21 1 2 inches long. Dominic Dr Harmon Kelley attended.
