Funeral Thursday at Faith Lutheran Beeville with burial at Floresville Cemetery. Survived by wife three daughters seven grandchildren nine great grandchildren.

Motor vehicle crashes remain the leading cause of death for children under 14 despite a 7 percent drop in occupant death rate from 1987 to 1996. Nonfatal injuries rose 4 percent in the same period. Infants up to one year and under 20 pounds should ride rear facing. Always use safety seats or belts every trip. Children 12 and under should ride in the back seat.
Employers face liability risk over health plan decisions
Texas business leaders warn that the Dingell-Norwood measure could expose employers to lawsuits for health plan choices. Bill Hammond says the proposal may make health insurance less available to Texans as 36 percent of large employers might drop benefits if enacted.
