Solargraph Watch advertised as versatile time-keeper for $1
An 1870s advertisement touts the Solargraph watch with timekeeping accuracy rivaling a $100 chronometer, a frost-class compass, and a low launch price of $1.00 plus $1.09 mailed. It claims use in schools nationwide and lists Rockland Mass as the address. The ad appeals to men and boys, travelers, and teachers, noting a 5 year warranty and a medal from a Boston Mechanics Fair in 1878.
