State Republican Convention Planned for Raleigh 1882
A North Carolina Republican State Executive Committee meeting on April 15 1882 unanimously resolved to hold a state convention in Raleigh on June 15 1882 to nominate a candidate for congressman at large a judge of the Supreme Court and to ratify district nominations for Superior Court judges and discuss matters aiding the party’s aim to overthrow bourbon Democracy in the state. The plan of organization outlines county district and state committees their selection rules vacancies and representation standards for conventions and delegates.
