A Mystery in a Tunnel Near Manchester Tragedy
A man named Mr J Kay, a Radcliffe tradesman, was found in a tunnel with severe head injuries and died later. A woman, identified as Mrs Kay, lay slain along the tracks after the Manchester Radcliffe express incident. The couple had traveled from Manchester to Brook’s Bank and were alone in a compartment before the train, with no clear explanation of how Kay ended up in the tunnel. The case remains unexplained after railway workers reported the discovery and initial inquiries.

Oregon Judge Rules Certificate Not Always Necessary for Entry
Judge Deady of the U S District Court in Oregon ruled that a Chinese entrant need not always produce a government certificate to prove the right to land. In a port case a Chinese actor was denied landing for lacking a certificate, but the judge found sufficient proof could establish his right if he provided a satisfactory explanation.
