Liberal State Ticket Nominated at Raleigh Convention
The Liberal convention at Raleigh on June 7 1872 names Oliver H Dockery of Richmond as congressman and George N Folk for Supreme Court with four Democrats two Republicans and one independent Republican among seven endorses. The Raleigh gathering is praised as the finest ever with 40 percent colored delegates and a slate of skilled, diverse leaders.
