Colored convention call and local politics in Pender County
A public notice from Wilmington dated January 21 1882 announces a convention of colored citizens of Pender County on February 4 at Burgaw to organize steps for enforcing civil rights. The letter by A V Horrer, chairman, urges township meetings for delegates, cites local officials and party alignment, and comments on education and local governance.
