Sun Spots and Chromosphere Observed by Prof. Young
Professor O A Young of Princeton lectured at the Cooper Institute on sun spots. He discussed a roughly 11 year cycle with variations, possible solar causes, and the relation to terrestrial magnetic disturbances. He explained the chromosphere’s gaseous hydrogen layer and prominences seen beyond the photosphere, likening them to moving clouds and jets.
