School Committee Meeting At Masenbore

The school committee at Masenbore met in August with the chairman directed to obtain land for a schoolhouse by gift or purchase. Miss Kennedy was appointed teacher for the whites school and Leona Nixon for the colored eastern division. A tense incident between white man Weeks and a colored man named Kelly was noted with promises of future justice and public disclosure of all facts.
