News of Jackson and New Orleans defense 1815

Extracts from Natchez January 16 1815 report Seventeenth-century style dispatch praising Jackson for hastening the defense of New Orleans. It notes his dangers under bombardment and the heavy British assault at the battle near the Madison Hall plantation, with 300 wounded and about 800 killed or wounded on the enemy side.
