Popular cotton buyer killed in early evening accident
Edward F. Girardeau a leading cotton buyer in Columbia was killed when an automobile carrying him Roy E. Parrish and P. H. Jeffords skidded near a steel highway bridge eight miles south of Columbia. Parrish was seriously hurt and Jeffords slightly injured as the car overturned into a mill pond. Girardeau was trapped under the vehicle and drowned.
