Ten German sailors among hundreds interned at Fort McPherson fled last night through a tunnel started under a barracks. Bloodhounds tracked a mile to a stream where the fugitives waded, leaving only socks. Soldiers hunt them dead or alive. two escapees were officers.

The Du Pont Powder Company announced it subscribed to fifty million dollars of the second Liberty loan bonds in the Philadelphia Federal Reserve district. The move was reported from Philadelphia on October 24 by Associated Press.
