Soldier killed in drunken brawl near Nogales
Private G. K. Shiftlitt of the Second California Infantry, home in Salem California, was shot and killed near Nogales on October 14. His body was placed on a railroad track to hide the crime but a train ran over him. A coroner's inquest found a bullet wound.
