Premier Kerensky appeals for Allied support as Russia’s war effort strains under German advances. Britain’s Admiralty opposes a direct fleet aid to Russia, while Italian and Austro German forces push along the Tagliamento. The central crisis centers on whether Allies will shoulder the burden to avert Russian collapse.
The judge refused Solicitor Hayden’s request for a venue change in the Ning murder case. Gaston B. Means had previously been granted access to the grand jury, which returned a true bill. The court then discussed issuing a special venire to assemble the jury, and debate continued.
