She owned extensive Manatee County land used for cattle ranching and her funeral will be held in Chicago. Palmer served as American commissioner to the Paris Exposition and was a Legion of Honor member honored by France.

No More Liberty Loans Until Fall Say Sen Simmons
Washington May 6 Senator Simmons of North Carolina chair of the senate finance committee said the nation's finances are in better shape than expected. He credited Liberty Loan returns and the strong income and excess profits taxes. He predicted no new Liberty Loan until fall and no tax legislation at this session. He noted expenditures may fall short by about five billion from earlier estimates and that treasury tax receipts should rise. He added there may be no need for further tax bills at the 65th congress session, barring unexpected changes.
