Severe criticism of chancellor runs through German press
Reports from Copenhagen dated July 17 note broad German press hostility to Dr. von Bethmann-Hollweg's handling of U.S. relations. The Vossische Zeitung accuses him and Foreign Secretary Zimmermann of a double game, while other papers urge strong parliamentary powers, call for peace moves, or pledge to uphold a durable peace with Germany rising to a free nation.
