Trial of Gaston B. Means over the death of Mrs Maude A King continues with the State arguing murder for money and the defense claiming accidental death. prosecutors assert King’s fortune fell from 1 038 000 to 193 000 as Means allegedly looted the estate.
Washington reports the Shipping Board and the United States Bureau of Standards will begin constructing a concrete steamship as an experimental vessel. Designed by bureau experts, the 4,500 ton ship may lead to more concrete ships if successful. A rival project is under construction in San Francisco. The Southern port for this ship is likely Savannah Georgia or Wilmington North Carolina.
Dr Colin Shaw of Maysville visited his mother Mrs N G Shaw at 308 North Front Street before leaving Saturday for Oglethorpe as a member of the medical reserve corps. Mrs Shaw has another son in the service.
