Trecoast Line Denies Restoring Passenger Trains Amid Coal Shortage
Atlantic Coast Line President John R. Kenly states no plans to restore daily passenger service on the New Bern and Fayetteville lines or elsewhere. He cites coal shortages and wartime strain, noting trains were cut as a public need, not a loss of interest. Privacy of schedules and future consideration remain undecided, while local civic groups press for restoration.
