Fire marshals arranged a Thursday parade with a long fire company line. Foreseeable visitors from Frederick City and Meading will join locals, marching past Fourth and Walnut to Market and St Johns Church with a grand spectacle expected.

Correspondent in Canotixe County, Mp, June 26 1880 writes from the country about a dry growing season, crops, and remarks on the Cincinnati Democratic Convention. He discusses lectures, language teaching plans, and his return to Wilmington late in August, closing with a brief note of sending any noteworthy news.
The regular semancual convocaion of the Grand Council of Red Crowe Knights of the Order of Matta in the United States closed its session in this vity on Friday last. Officers were elected and installed per ancient rite. Notable names include Sir Thomas McCracken and Sir David Irwin among others. Visiting knights were entertained by friends after installation.
The city mill to test a new turbine water wheel this afternoon using a process that measures water after it passes the wheel rather than before entering the pipe. The race bank weir will be moved below the pump so the pump uses only the city’s rights while gaining the full seventeen foot fall.
Officials warn that a vote incindiary and experts in such acts will be present at the city parade next Thursday evening. Police are told to watch for suspicious characters in the crowd.
