Boy Drowns After Vessel Boom Strikes Deck at Port Penn
A twelve year old boy aboard a schooner on Delaware Bay was knocked overboard and drowned Saturday evening after the vessel boom swung and struck him on the head. The body was not recovered by Sunday night. Sale of Holling Mill Property. The sheriff’s sale of J Marshall Rolling Mill Company assets at Newport drew strong attendance, the machinery selling for 12,000 against an appraisement of 17,000, a sharp result for a forced sale.

Theft of a horse near Newport prompts reward
The stable of Kia Lynam near Newport was broken into last night and a sorrel horse with white hind feet and white nose was stolen. Mr. Lynam offers a suitable reward for the horse or for information leading to its recovery. A house at Thirteenth and Market streets was sold for 3600 to Joseph H Gould. Augustus Woolley was appointed traveling agent for a Seaford phosphate factory. The steam yacht Charles Morgan from Chester arrived in Wilmington with excursionists.
