A proposed canning factory to be built on a Bran dywine tract east of Bowers, Bure & Co. car shops in Wilmington will cover about 0.4 acre with a 164 by 216 foot main brick building, wharf access, and multiple rooms for beef, packing, storage, and workers housing. Edward I Rice Jr oversees plans. capital is projected at 120000 dollars. many workers to be brought from England and Ireland.

Health Board Abates Nuisances and Plans Scavenger Rules

The Board of Health met in regular session with Dr. Draper chairing in Bash's absence. They reported abating 102 nuisances and ordered the water-filled cellars at 814 to 824 Church Street cleared at once. The rules committee proposed updating scavenger regulations, omitting the term night scavenger, and the board discussed cess pools under ordinance limits. They protested a proposed ordinance benefiting private individuals, and adjourned after addressing public health matters and an excursion note.

Tug Claudus Trial Run Tied to Local Firms

The tug Claudus built by Joshua L Gambsoo of Bordertown New Jersey for William Lea and Bons of the city completed a trial voyage. Pusey Jones Company installed its machinery. The tug will tow Yeels up the Brandywine to the Mesara Leas milla.

Incendiary Fire in Dallas Causes Major Loss

Ice formed in parts of New Brunswick Monday night. An incendiary fire in Dallas destroyed several stores Monday morning, causing about 40000 dollars in damage.
