Fatal Burning Case Leaves Two Children Dead or Dying
A sad accident in Vandever avenue and Lamwet street in the ninth ward left two young children affected by fire. Eliza beth Thompson, aged two years six months, died after severe burns. George Thompson, three months old, was burned seriously and may also die. A servant girl left alone with the children. matches caused the blaze. Doctor Shortridge treated them but the girl died Sunday morning while the infant remains critically injured.

After a consultation the Delaware Trotting Association postpone their Spring races to Wednesday and Thursday the 16th and 17th inst. Death of Stephen J Gilbert in Front Street residence
Stephen J Gilbert died at his home 107 KE Front Street from disease of the lungs. Born in Cecil County Maryland he lived most of his life in the city. He was in the 2d year of his age and left a wife and three children. Funeral will be tomorrow morning at 4 o'clock.

Lost a Fine Colt in a Farmyard Accident
Lewis R Springer of Asis city reports a valuable yearling colt sired by Clematis owned by Senator Bayard. The colt was kept at Dr Duffy's farm on the Philadelphia pike. Last Wednesday it leaped a four foot wall, fell, and developed lockjaw leading to death. Springer mourns the loss of his prized animal.
