A modest crowd gathered in Wasatoton on June 6 as the Freedman's Bank property was presented for sale. No bids were accepted on the bank property, and only a small offer was made for a separate parcel, leaving the sale unsettled and the property's value quoted around a rough figure.

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers marks twenty five years with a fund near four million dollars and benefits. Four suspects arrested in the St. Louis and San Francisco rail tampering case. motive alleged. Legislative actions include a South Carolina conference report on a disputed appropriation and a concurrent resolution to declare Judge Carpenter's seat vacant, with elections ordered.
