Sweden educational exhibit at Fairmount park school house display

Independence Resolutions Presented in General Congress 1776

One Hundred Years Ago on June 7 1776 Richard Henry Lee proposed resolutions in the General Congress of United Colonies of America seconded by John Adams urging independence from Britain and the formation of alliances and a confederation plan. A fire in Rising Sun Maryland damaged a Jerome Kimball property and burned a Townsend horse and carriage, with the blaze likely starting from a cigar. Sa itidge’s Food for Infants and Toddlers advertisement appears in the record.
