At the regular meeting Fayette Lodge No 14 selected officers for the ensuing year led by W M Thomas Davidson and S W Charles Manuel J W Win Hi Hazlett with Secretary Jolo W H Graham Treasurer Wm G Pierce and Trustees R H Banks James L Begus Phowas Mitchell Also Ex-coroner Groves Jas fully recovered and moving about the city in good health.
Thomas Nickerson, an ex police officer, attacked Esquire Watson in his Sixth Street office, resisted officers Bernhardt and Cropper, and was restrained after a struggle. He fired a revolver in custody and faced charges of assault and attempted blackmail. He was fined 10 dollars plus costs, with bail set at 1,000 dollars for peace and 2,000 dollars for court appearance.
Bernard Mellhenny of this city died after being struck by a backward moving engine No 7 while crossing Front street railway track in Chester. He was 70, hard of hearing, and died after an inquest was ordered following transfer to a relative’s home. An advertisement for a Mackinaw hat and hammock appears at the end.
