Oley G Moody a young bricklayer with theatrical talent died last evening at his West Second Street residence after a long consumption illness. He was known for clog dancing and song and dance acts with partner H lavey on the local stage. A longtime active member of Fame S F E Company the company hall bears a mourning badge today. Moody was twenty five years old.
The Delaware State Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Wilmington has reorganized and gained a certificate of authority to operate from Delaware's Insurance Commissioner. French street hosted a sleighing carnival yesterday afternoon with the citys best sleighs and fast trotters taking part. The event saw the usual upsets and narrow escapes from collisions but no one was seriously hurt.

Joshua Emmett a known tramp, lay near death after stepping from a second story veranda at 15 Market Street. The incident left the pavement stained with blood though death is not feared.

The commission comprises Theodore Crawford Sam W McClary H R Bringhurst C Hill Brinton and H L Tatnall. Hazlett street runs from Adams street below Delaware Avenue and is slated for opening.
Charles Duffy, jailed in New Castle on a robbery charge against Drake & Co., crafted a small bedstead as a Christmas gift for Chief Maxwell’s late daughter. He also made a miniature whipping post and pillory, though not as complete or handsome as the bedstead.

Halifax N S December 23 General Sir P L Macd has received a cablegram from home authorities asking if one regiment could be spared to send to protect a location. It is understood the inquiry aims to dispatch one regiment now stationed here. No freight trains run on the P W B and other railroads tomorrow but passenger trains will run as usual.
