Surgeon Draper’s Back Pay Restored in Navy Case
Wasuiyoton December 21 Dr Lemuel Draper of this city was reinstated to the navy after thirteen years and ten months an interim. He says that but for a technicality he would be owed back pay between twenty five thousand and thirty thousand dollars including promotions. The secretary’s letter says his resignation was never accepted and he is restored to his place. It is doubtful he can obtain the money without Congress action and the restoration is said to have been the work of Bob Ingersoll.
