Killed by the Bite of a Pet Dog in Lavaca County
Willie Davis, youngest son of J N Ely of Lavaca County Texas, was bitten by a pet dog around October 17. The dog died shortly after from spasms. Ten days earlier the boy had feverish pains in the leg, worsened to delirium and biting, ending in death.

Reservoir Celebration Marks First Water Release
Thousands gathered as Brandywine water flowed into the Cool Spring Reservoir signaling the semi centennial Wilman water works. City officials and civic groups led a parade along Market and Delaware Avenues to the reservoir where the Worthington pump released water at 3:05 pm. The crowd cheered as water filled the basin and citizens united in the celebratory events.
