Annie Mills, a 90 year old Irish-born woman living with husband John Mills in Wilmington, was attacked along Front Street. The assailant, described as short and heavy, hit her with a heavy cane and kicked her during a struggle, leaving multiple contusions and a possible attempt at rape. she remains in jail, with doctors hopeful for recovery.

John McCulloch of San Francisco, a leather merchant, arrived in New York last Tuesday with 3500 dollars in cash, checks, a watch, and jewelry. In Crestline Ohio on Thursday night an unknown burglar, trying to break into a shoe store, was shot dead by Felix who slept in the area. the burglar acted with two accomplices.
Detective Squirn arraigns Hallock for forgery as decoy letters lured victims into trap. Hallock, a former penitentiary inmate, had linked with Kasper Miller before drifting east.
