The Local News reports a violent assault by a powerful colored man on a young woman near North Dariington Street last Saturday evening. A strong grip left a large painful lump. screams drew help and the assailant fled. Police should seek the man matching the long-documented nuisance to bring him to justice.
The 1:05 p.m. train carried the Pennsylvania Railroad Directors' private Pullman palace car with Joseph Lesley Secretary of the P R R and his brother A Lesley M D of New Castle. They head to St Augustine Florida where Mr. Lesley must spend the winter due to illness. They travel to Jacksonville without change. Boddy and Fehrenbach form a scroll work partnership in this city, buying machinery and taking orders at 105 Beae street. Dr Bull's Baby Syrup is advertised as a remedy for summer complaint and dysentery in infants.
Washington reports discuss increasing silver coinage and keeping standard dollars in active use, with advocates claiming 100000 in circulation capacity. McMillan of Tennessee plans a $5 salary bill for 1881 and outlines White House expense comparisons.
