Queer Beavers Aid Pacific Rail Dams 1568

In 1568 beavers helped a contractor raise water levels for timber rafts to build crossties for a Pacific Railway crossing. Nightly beaver damming, alongside beaver labor, aided the project as workers paused. New York December 2 reports the Methodist Episcopal Board of Education meeting with officers elected and ministry aid figures.

Discovery at Jerusalem Uncovers Ancient Rock Cut Tombs

The London Atheneum reports a dig near Damascus Gate outside Jerusalem unearthed a hollow sounding rock revealing sephulchral rock cut chambers. A larger vault contained a seven foot seven inch stone chest with human bones and possible coffin remains. Dr Chaplin suggests a date near tombs and questions a link to Stephen church and Eudoclay’s resting place.

Snakes in her stockings and a Confederate colonel dies

In Madisonville Kentucky a woman reports visions of snakes after tasting barrel cider, describing a vivid parade of green red yellow striped and many others twisting around her stockings. The tale ends with her resolving to quit hard cider and join a temperance lodge. Nearby Colonel George Terrett a former U S Marine and Confederate officer dies near Alexandria Virginia after a paralysis illness.
