The Wilmette Public Library will open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily except Sunday starting October 2 as a trial. To add evening hours the Laurel branch afternoons are dropped and its hours added to the main library. An assistant will serve Laurel teachers and children Tuesdays 2 to 4 30 p.m.
