The Logan school Hallowe en party wowed attendees with a children s costume parade and rooms turned into dinner halls. Parents helped with menus and decorations. Mr Hector Dodds hosted ceremonies and prizes. Bobbing for apples and a memory quiz entertained, ending with a community song under PTA leadership.
Plans announced for a sequence of dances at Shawnee Country Club for high school age members children. Mrs. Holland Flanavhan of Winnetka named chairman to organize the first Shawnee High School Swing on November 24 in the club ballroom with decorations music and entertainment by North Shore students. Hosts include the Jarchows Badgers Chiquoines and Titus families from Wilmette Winnetka Evanston.
James Becker nine years old was wounded in the side Sunday afternoon when a home made 22 caliber pistol discharged. Harvey Kreusch sixteen explained he set the gun down to chase a rat under a coal bin and warned the Becker boy away. the gun went off striking a rib and missing the heart by inches. The weapon was turned over to police.
The Sea Scouts held an informative evening with discussions and announcements. A new year contest will begin, aided by prior experience to be more interesting and educational. Members will recruit new scouts, promote rank progress, and support apprentices. Chief Boatswain's Mate George Randall and Bud Streed received promotions, with Richard Jones named Assistant Starboard Crew Leader. The ships Phan tom and Ouillmette will be moved from Wilmette harbor for winter and next season respectively.
Miss Willamina Oelerich and her father Frank Oelerich of 1201 Greenwood Avenue will attend the annual father and daughter dinner sponsored by Rosary College Home Economics Club on November 17. Miss Oelerich is a Rosary College senior in River Forest.
