Finin ish SKOKIE HIGHWAY SOON The arrival of favorable weather for highway construction will witness the completion of additional gaps in highway 57 known as Skokie boulevard It is announced The new super highway which is six lanes wide south of the Glenview road and four lanes wide north from that intersection is designed to take care of through traffic along the west edge of the north shore villages into the connection of route 57 with Cicero avenue near Touhy avenue Well Marked Detour From Oakton street south about one half mile there is an unfinished section with a marked detour to 57s Cicero ave connection southbound traffic may continue in an airline to the Governors highway between Kankakee and Chicago four miles south of the Lincoln highway There is another gap at Lawrence avenue with an incomplete grade separation but a marked detour To Close Up Gaps Route 57 is complete and open north from Avoca road to the county line and partially completed from the county line to the Bob O Link golf club west of Highland Park Short unfinished gaps between Avoca road and Lake avenue and near Hibbard road will be finished as soon as weather permits.

First National Bank of Wilmette to pay 15 percent dividend
The First National Bank of Wilmette, closed in June last year, will pay a 15 percent dividend to depositors within 30 days. Receiver Melvin B. Ericson says checks are being drawn on the Comptroller of Currency and sent for signature. About $90,000 goes to unsecured claims, with $75,000 still unproved plus a $10,000 reserve for future payouts. Total available for depositors at present is $100,000. Bonds sold and asset collections enabled the payout despite only $37,722 cash on hand as of March 31, 1933.
