Stunt Night Committee Plans Rehearsals and Trophy

The Stunt Night committee meets with two other groups, the Episcopal church group and the Epworth league, to discuss rehearsals. A trophy was chosen and Walter Lyman was named ticket committee chairman with Albert Ackermann handling publicity. Co chairs are Miss Mildred Farmer and Robert Maxwell.

Camp Fire Meeting Reports Candles and Plans

At the March 25 meeting Camp Fire girls recount making candles and playing games in the yard. A business session covers the April 1 swimming party at Shawnee Country Club and a trip on March 18 to a handicraft exhibit of Camp Fire groups from all Chicago land. Each attendee received an ice cream bar.

Camp Fire Girls Birthday Project Highlights Early America

In 1939 the Camp Fire Girls explore attics to uncover family antiques and learn about early American life. They make candles, try grandmother era recipes, study period dress, and model outfits. Some groups dramatize lives of American authors composers or artists and perform piano selections.

Old Time Community Project Sings America

Historic landmarks in our community are being located and maps created from these findings. The project will close with an old time party where everyone shares an American folk song or dance or an old-time game.

Swim Carnival to Aid Olympic Fund

A big evening at Patten Gym features a Northwestern dual meet between varsity and freshman squads, an exhibition by the Women’s Athletic Association, and a water polo clash with the St. Louis Y.M.C.A. Proceeds go to the U.S. Olympic fund. Divers Claudia Eckert and Marion Mansfield headline. Tom Powell and Bert Kreis anchor the diving group. A mediley relay and freestyle relay include Crystal Diete Jane McGarry Peggy Kurz Helen Woodruff and Mansfield.

Nation al College of Education hosts Parents Day with morning classes luncheon and afternoon assembly featuring Easter music by the college choir directed by Miss Louise St John Westervelt. A tea follows and the day closes with the play The Great Allowance Battle staged by the dramatic club.

Elizabeth Holman Weds Alfred Dietsch in Wilmette

Elizabeth Holman, living with Mr and Mrs Carl Peterson of 144 Maple Ave Wilmette, married Alfred Dietsch Tuesday at St Francis Xavier parish house. Rev Martin McNamara officiated. A breakfast followed at the Dietsch home after a two months trip.

Miss Cox to Return Home From De Pauw University

Miss Marian Cox of De Pauw University Greencastle Ind will be home Wednesday of next week for a spring vacation. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs B N Cox of 1116 Elmwood Avenue. Norton A Booz of 919 Forest Avenue will visit his son and daughter in law Mr and Mrs Spencer Booz in Wabash Ind before heading back to Ohio.
