University Women To Hold 3 Day Vocation Parley

Northwestern University hosts a three day vocational guidance conference beginning March 7 with talks by Esther Stamats and other professionals. The program features round table discussions on teaching music interior decoration home economics railroading and statistics. Thursday closes with a dinner at Evanston First Methodist church and a discussion on Marriage and a Job.

Camp Fire Meeting Recaps Practice and Dance Lesson

The group met on February 20 to practice for a ceremonial meeting planned for February 28. Miss Hope Carroll, guardian, taught a new folk dance and they sang several songs to end the pleasant meeting. They invite eighth grade girls to join. meetings occur after school on Tuesdays at 1531 Lake Avenue.

Kenilworth Advi sory Committee Becomes Permanent Organization

Kenilworth voters approved a formal constitution and by laws for the Advisory Committee to coordinate civic effort and nominate candidates for village school and park boards. Members include leaders from the Education Board League of Women Voters Neighbors Garden Club Historical Society park commissioners village board and Kenilworth club. The secretary treasurer is the village manager and annual meeting will be in May with a February session for April election candidates.

Mrs Agnew Retires As Dorcas Home Head

Dorcas Home at Deerfield announces the resignation of Mrs William Agnew due to illness after twenty five years of service. The board notes she started the work and greatly nurtured many community children, and pledges the home will continue its non sectarian mission with help from friends.

Girl Scout Anniversary Celebrations Across Nations and Towns

Girl Scouts across the country mark the 27th anniversary of the first troop with parties and formal events. In Wilmette a Scouts Own at 3 pm at the Presbyterian church features Miss Margaret Heineke of Springfield sharing World Scout insights from Adelboden Switzerland.
