North Shore Golf Club Championship Course Rise in Chicago Suburb
The North Shore club near Chicago, established 1909 with 190 members now at 300, shows growing strength with a 6,772 yard par 72 course praised as one of the hardest in the district. Club finances include a $150,000 bond issue paid down over sixteen years, with social and women’s events highlighted by weekly Short Putts, Friday women’s play, and dinner dances. Don Morrison, the pro in his fourth year, is noted as a skilled teacher though not yet a major tournament winner.
