Northwestern graduate Ackermann leads Theta Upsilon Rho officers
Mr. Ackermann a North Chicago chemist and Abbott Laboratories employee is a Northwestern graduate and early founder of Theta Upsilon Rho. The group elected Phil Hoelz as first vice president Miss Virginia Brooks as second vice president Walter Lyman and Marion Goode as third vice presidents Shirley Pearson as secretary and George Williams as treasurer. Retiring president Armen Jorjorian and sister Araxie hosted a social hour at the Jorjorian residence 1719 Elmwood Wilmette after the meeting with over forty members and guests present.

Noted Artist Donates Ravinia Poster For Season
Dale Nichols, Glenview based artist and winner of twenty three major art awards,donates Ravinia poster and program cover for the fourth season opening June 29. The poster features a feminine figure with lute beneath a starry sky and trees. It will aid Ravinia coupon book sales by over 200 North Shore volunteers. books cost 10 dollars and include 18 coupons for 75 cent admissions or reserved seats. Three conductors will lead the Chicago Symphony during the season: Sir Adrian Boult, Vladimir Golschmann, and Artur Rodzinski.
