Sunday July 8 services across Christian Science Churches centered on Sacrament with the golden text from John 6 33 declaring Jesus as the Bread of God. The lesson cited Psalms 51 15 17 praising sincere worship and Mary Baker Eddy’s Science and Health stressing worship without material ritual as true devotion.
Marie Zidenius Zendt soprano and pianist Heniot Levy will present a recital Wednesday July 18 at 3 o clock in Kimball Hall Chicago. Zendt will sing On My Last Day with lyrics by Francesca Falk Miller and Frances Copthorne of Winnetka. Additional selections include Il Re Pastore Ecstasy Evening La Plainte and Serenade by Carpenter.
Coram T. Davis Jr, 132 Bertling Jane Winnetka and Robert K Hitchcock of Evanston and Bar Harbor entertained last Saturday evening at the Illinois Country Club. Guests included Miss Celine Brundage, Jerry Van Sinden, Miss Catherine Munro, Miss Marion Cox, Stanley Pirie, Miss Mary Mac Elhalton, and Laurence Scott after a day of golf and dinner followed by dancing in the cleared lounge.
Messrs Issy Sawyer and family from Trenton Mo visit Mrs William Montgomery and Miss Margie Penick while wives stay through extended visits. Mrs William Mudge of Duluth and daughter Dorothy arrive July 8 to stay with Mrs Walter H Anderson. Mrs J M Martin of Two Harbors plans visit with Mrs Anderson next Sunday. Miss Betty Palenske leaves for Minneapolis to visit Miss Mildred Bowen and later to Banff with her father. Mrs John W Powers hosts a bridge luncheon at Kenilworth’s fine golf club for Miss Georgiana Fowler of Winnetka whose wedding is July 21.
