Wilmette launches federal savings and loan plan
At a Monday noon meeting in Weeks' dining room Wilmette voters examined forming a federal savings and loan association under supervision of the Federal Home Owners Loan Corporation. O R Kreutz outlined government matching funds, mortgage investments, and four share types with low costs and promising yields. A unanimous vote directed immediate steps to organize and hold several public meetings in January.

At a village board meeting President P Dobbs urged Trustees Harry C Kinne Joseph Heinzen and S N Tideman to run again next April 17. The same request was made of Village Clerk Nicholas P Miller and Village Treasurer Harry W Miller who all expressed willingness to stand again. Dobbs noted the waterworks project as the campaign issue and cited the Shawnee Country Club suit to block construction as a backdrop to the board’s two year achievements.
