Col Albert L. Denman former Wilmette police chief and his nine year old son Albert were seriously injured in a Sunday accident near Santa Maria California. A friend was killed and both Denman and his son were hospitalized with probable skull fractures. Denman resigned Wilmette chief in 1924 to aid Dawes and later worked with Los Angeles police traffic and Cook County highway police.
The Evening Garden Club meets Tuesday August 13 at the First Presbyterian Church Wilmette. D K McNullan of Vaughn's Seed Store speaks on insecticides and fungicides with research background at University of Haineis. He will answer questions and identify plant diseases from samples brought by members.

Miss Elizabeth Freudenreich daughter of William F Freudenreich of 314 Albottsford Road Kenilworth has passed entrance requirements and college boards and been accepted by Smith College She has now changed plans and will enter Northwestern University this fall.
Eugene L. Ray, longtime Evanston photographer, opens a new studio at 1606 Chicago Avenue Evanston on the first floor with a drawing room and refined lighting for natural portraits. Nearby residents and associates are noted in accompanying society notices.
The Detroit Clowns de luxe comedian players return to Wilmette Sunday to face the Chamber of Commerce nine at 3 oclock at Village Green. Kennedy for Wilmette opposes Williams for the Clowns while Kilby Gallagher and Barre lead the visitors in star power and batting averages.
